Rabbis: Speak out against E-1 Construction

Earlier this month the Israeli government announced plans to advance the construction of settlements in the E1 area of the West Bank, as well as to authorize the building of thousands of new settlement units in East Jerusalem.

Because of the gravity of the current situation, Americans for Peace Now has joined with J Street's Rabbinic Cabinet and Rabbis for Human Rights-North America to collectively issue a rabbinic sign-on letter. If Israel builds in E1, it will cut East Jerusalem off from its West Bank surroundings and effectively bifurcate the West Bank.

As a religious leader, Prime Minister Netanyahu needs to hear from you that settlement expansion does not reflect your values and harms the long-term security and viability of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state.

Please write to Prime Minister Netanyahu now to urge him to stop the plans to construct new settlements in E1, elsewhere in the West Bank, or in East Jerusalem for the sake of the State of Israel and the Jewish people.
