Today AIPAC supporters are on the Hill. One of their goals will be to tell your elected members of Congress what is "pro-Israel" when it comes to Iran. Specifically, they will be asking your House member to co-sponsor and eventually vote for HR 850 - the latest in a long line of AIPAC-backed Iran sanctions bills - and they will be asking your Senators to co-sponsor and eventually vote for S. Res. 65 - nicknamed by some the "Backdoor to War" resolution, since it effectively gives a green light for Israeli military action against Iran that, if carried out, would almost certainly require the U.S. to join the fight.
Click here to tell your House member: don't support HR 850.
Click here to tell your Senator: don't support S. Res. 65

Peace is a better option.
This is not a time for blind, mindless extremism. We need a two state solution, and a recognition that either the world is safe for everyone, or it's safe for nobody. And warmongering is just plain stupid, not just wrong. AIPAC is stupidly wrong.
Peace is the only way not war as a means to peace.
I am Jewish and have relatives in Israel, but Israel needs "tough love," not more blind support from the U.S. That is what allowed Israel to build the settlements, which are now one of the main stumbling blocks on the path to peace. On top of that, a war with Iran would be a mistake, just like the Bush war with Iraq. If it came to that point, I would even prefer "containment." It has worked with North Korea for decades.
If we want peace, we must work for justice.
The Palestinians need allies also and the U.S. must work toward becoming an honest broker.
Everyone in the region has children to feed. Blockades damage Palestinian farmers' ability to reach their olive groves, farm fields, and keep workers from reaching jobs.
Two countries that tout the virtues of democracy did not care for the democratically elected Hamas government of Palestine. In an effort to vote after the Palestinians, and cripple Hamas, enormous damage is being done to ordinary Palestinian.
No lasting relationship has ever been built upon land confiscation. Terrible beginnings, full of displacement and suffering tend to ripple thru time. We can't go back in time, but we can behave more honorably in the future.
Peace now but justice is the underpinning that makes peace durable.
AIPAC is a foreign controlled lobbying group of myopic fools and hypocrites that endorses and supports the Zionist wacko, neo-Nazi tribe-all-eeego agenda... for the Jim Crow APARTHEID 'theocrazy' of Israel to openly commit ethnic cleansing and genocide in the WARSAW GHETTO OF GAZA (and elsewhere).
Zionism, a foul 19th Century political invention, is branding every Jew on the planet as a bigot and a racist! See it! See it! See it! See what it is! See that it is a policy that once again scapegoats the Jews.
What to do? A two $tate solution is no longer a viable option; violent and bigoted Israeli $ettlers have destroyed that option. The only option now... is a ONE $tate $olution where people return to the $ocio/political reality that existed in PALESTINE before Jews immigrating from Russia and Europe displaced the greater indigious population of the so called Holy Lands.
Failure to achieve a ONE $tate $olution will eventually bring catastrophe that shall turn Israel and the surrounding areas into sheets of black radioactive glass.
You asked for my opinion. Well, you got it! And Old Coyote Knose that this view comes from the
'Horse's Mouth'.
One more thing! I am part of a growing contingent of the Amerikan population that is fed up with putting Israel first and making Amerika $econd. We have had enough of Israel!
Enough said!
R.R.R.
I could not sign a message to my representatives saying that I am a "strong supporter of Israel." There was a time when I could have said that but those days have gone. I cannot support a country that brutally occupies another people's lands, oppresses them when they try to keep their lands from theft by either the Israeli government or by the settlers, continues to build or add to settlements all deemed illegal under international law. I cannot support a country that says that I can "return" but that my Palestinian friend, born in Jerusalem, cannot return to the land of her birth.
I wish that I could once again be a strong supporter of Israel but until there are changes I will have to stand up and say "not in my name."
Peace and equality for ALL.
