Barely making news was that at the Knesset, European Union Ambassador to Israel Lars Faaborg-Andersen slammed Israel’s policy of demolishing Palestinian homes and buildings – some built with EU money. Faaborg-Andersen said, "Israel is creating humanitarian hardships.” The PLO called Israel's numerous recent home demolitions
a “crude attack...against a defenseless people under occupation.” According to B'Tselem, Israel demolished more Palestinian homes in the past six months than in all of 2015. And in the Negev, Israeli forces demolished the Bedouin village of al-Araqib for the 101st time.

Commentary/Analysis:
Woe to Israel if Its Government Rests on Racist Thugs (Haaretz Editorial) The case of far-right fan club La Familia constitutes another warning light about nature of Israel’s government.
US and Israeli rabbis are concerned about racism towards them: "This is not just religious" (Shlomo Shamir, Maariv) Reform and Conservative rabbis are concerned about Israeli democracy and its image. In an impassioned plea to the Prime Minister, they asked him to defend them from repeated attacks.
Ostrich policy' comes at a price (Dan Margalit, Israel Hayom) If European leaders don't stop burying their heads in the sand and ignoring Islamist terrorism, the moderate, liberal and democratic parties will ultimately lose at the polls.
What Sort of Society Feels Absolutely Nothing After Killing Hundreds of Children? (Gideon Levy, Haaretz+) Israel killed 546 Palestinian children over the course of only 50 days in Gaza in 2014. Of those, 180 were babies and toddlers under the age of five.
Be wise, there will be Salaam (peace): Go out and learn - shouting and contempt won’t bring coexistence (Lilach Sigan, Maariv) Netanyahu's apparent hypocrisy is of no interest to the mayor of Nazareth. So he’ll earn a few political bucks from his video clip to the Arabs. What matters in the end is that Israeli Arabs will benefit.
The suffering of ‘our boy’ Elor Azaria (Aviad Kleinberg, Yedioth/Ynet) If we are to look at 18 year olds as responsible enough to take up arms and fight for us, we also need to see them as adults who are accountable for their own actions; treating them as children once they are accused of wrongdoing is incoherent and incorrect.
What do we need pre-military academies for and why are the rabbis against LGBTs? (Ron Kaufman, Maariv) Will Mahmoud Darwish harm the military ethos? Ron Kaufman in a particularly angry column.
Putting the Hebron Shooting Manslaughter Trial Into Historic Context (Uri Misgav, Haaretz+) Sgt. Elor Azaria should have argued before the military court that his killing of an incapacitated Palestinian was in keeping with the spirit of the time and place.
