For years I've been concerned about Israel remaining a democracy based upon the occupation. I'm beginning to realize that I'm not even sure it is currently functioning as a Jewish state. If the settlers, and by extension the government, are behaving in such "un-Jewish" ways... I don't see Israel as a "Jewish" homeland. It has become more a "mob" state. The great Jewish leaders of centuries past must be reeling in their graves at the travesties of Tzedek that take place daily in the land of Israel.
If it is truly a Jewish State you must build homes for the palestinians also and make sure they are educated, have good jobs, good food and water. They are our family and must be treated as Cousins.
The Israeli ILLEGAL Settlers perform these illegal act of destruction and continue to foment the world's realization that they are simply not entitled! They must be removed from the Palestinian lands that they OCCUPY illegally!
It has bothered me for a long time that Israel tolerates and even encourages the illegal settlements. What is the rationale? I am also disappointed in my Canadian government's unquestioning support of Israel, and I have written letters to our Prime Minister and to my Member of Parliament to complain. But what more can a person do? We have a disgraceful situation in our own country regarding aborigianls, so we Canadians, I guess, can't complain too much about the situation in Israel.
