APN's daily news review from Israel
Friday November 11, 2016

Quote of the day:
“We believe Trump’s limited familiarity with the international arena will make the team he brings with him to the White House even more important, since it will have broad influence in setting the administration’s foreign policy.”
--In an internal document, Israel's Foreign Ministry concedes Israel has no idea what the policies of US President-elect Donald Trump will be towards Israel.**

News Summary:
**The Israeli newspapers continued to second-guess what US President-elect Donald Trump’s policies vis-à-vis Israel would be, even as his Israel advisor said that Trump did not view settlements as obstacles to peace and Haaretz+ revealed that Israel’s Foreign Ministry sent a letter to its embassies saying it believes Trump will reduce America’s involvement in the Middle East. Meanwhile, the Israeli right-wing is hoping to build new settlements and pro-settlement Education Minister Naftali Bennett insisted on holding a vote Sunday to approve a bill that would legalize settlement outposts built on privately-owned Palestinian land, despite Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s request to postpone the vote. However, Israel’s Attorney General said Israel’s High Court would refuse the state’s request to delay the demolition of Amona outpost if the cabinet approves the bill. Meanwhile, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev was in town and in a joint press conference with Netanyahu said that the two countries must fight terror and anti-Semitism.
