On Sunday, the Israeli police concluded their investigation into Case 4000, which deals with suspected corruption tied to telecommunications giant Bezeq and the Walla! News website. They have recommended that PM Netanyahu be indicted for bribery, fraud, and breach of trust. Bibi has, unsurprisingly, rejected the allegations and dubbed this a "witch-hunt," and he and his supporters have targeted the police force. Coalition Whip David Amsalem went as far as to say "this is an actual coup," prompting Attorney General Mandelblit to strongly speak out against the attacks on the justice system.
Ironically or intentionally, Bibi released a Hanukkah video on Sunday before the news of the indictment in which he made light of the series of police investigations against him. In the video, Bibi strikes up a conversation with a man as they wait in line for sufganiyot (donuts). At one point, the man refers to the various cases against him, "Case 1000, 2000, 4000, and 5000," and Bibi says "Leave it. Who is even counting.”

- A ruling from Israel's High Court loosened regulations on Israeli authorities' use of physical force despite the 1999 ban on "physically abusive interrogation tactics." Last week the court ruled that the Shin Bet's torture of a Hamas suspect was not illegal and that the tactics used were “proportionate and reasonable in relation to the danger that arose from the intelligence.” (+972 Mag)
- The Shin Bet is setting up a second accelerator program - a program to support tech start-ups - with Tel Aviv University. The program will select start-ups working in the fields of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, financial technology, and robotics. (Times of Israel)
