News Summary:
The targeted killings of the two suspects in the murders of three yeshiva teens, the downing of a Syrian plane in Israeli land, the arrival of a  Dolphin-class nuclear capable submarine at Haifa port were the top stories in today's Hebrew newspapers on the eve of Rosh Hashana. Israeli Prime Minister Binaymin Netanyahu gave interviews to The Jerusalem Post (translated to Hebrew in Maariv) and to Israel Hayom, saying that the West's battle against radical Islam is equivalent to Israel's battle against ISIS and that radical Islam is a global threat.

On the Gaza front, Yedioth's Itamar Eichner reports that CCTVs will be employed to observe the transfer of construction materials into Gaza and prevent dual-use items from being used by Hamas for other purposes.
Maariv's Yasser Ukabi reported that in talks in Cairo, the Israelis and Palestinians agreed to extend the temporary truce until the end of October. And in New York, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said he would submit his UN resolution Friday for an IDF withdrawal from the West Bank.

And what was barely mentioned in the papers, but was reported online, was the rioting that broke out yesterday on the Temple Mount. Israel Hayom reported that "The riot broke out during Public Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch's visit to the Temple Mount. He was touring the area with Jerusalem District Police Commander Yossi Pariente." Ynet did not explain why Palestinians rioted. The Israeli media also reported that "an extreme right-wing Jewish activist was removed from the Temple Mount due to suspicion that he intended to disturb the peace." Maariv online posted a video showing Housing Minister Uri Ariel on the Temple Mount while rioting went on in the background.
Only Maan reported that "clashes began...after police forced Palestinians out of the Muslim holy site at gunpoint... They added that the clashes became even more intense as Israeli Minister of Housing Uri Ariel entered the compound with a group of right-wing Israeli Jews."

POLLS:
**Israel Hayom: Majority of Israelis prefer living in Israel
54% of public believes Israel is a good place to live in.
61% would rather live here than anywhere else.
57% feel "Jewish first and Israeli second."
Security situation, cost of living remain top public concerns.

Maariv:
Were elections held today a party led by former communications minister Moshe Kahlon, would get 11 mandates. Economy Minister and Habayit Hayehudi chairman Naftali Bennett draws strength at the expense of Yesh Atid, but still has less than the Likud. Meretz is reinforced with 9 seats compared to six today.
