You Must Be Kidding:
The day after IDF Deputy Chief of Staff Gen. Yair Golan said he was frightened to recognize that "the revolting processes that occurred in Europe in general, and particularly in Germany, back then – 70, 80 and 90 years ago – and finding signs of them here among us today in 2016," the IDF Spokesman released a statement that General Golan "did not intend to compare the IDF and Israel to what happened in Germany 70 years ago. Such a comparison would be absurd and baseless."**

News Summary:
**After Haaretz revealed a draft of the severe State Comptroller’s report on failures by Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon in conducting Operation Protective Edge, the summer of 2014 war with Gaza, Netanyahu’s associates told reporters that the Comptroller is politicking. Another Gaza tunnel reaching into Israel was exposed after Israel nabbed a Gazan involved
in the tunnel system and within hours the area heated up as Hamas fired into Israel and Israel fired back. (A 60-year-old Palestinian woman was killed in the Israeli shelling, but that was barely mentioned in the Hebrew papers, however Maan reported it raised the tension.)  The storm and the dispute over the Holocaust Remembrance Day speech by the Deputy Chief of Staff Gen. Yair Golan, said he was frightened by the ‘revolting’ trends in Israeli society which were similar to those of Germany in the ‘30’s, got the support of Defense Minister Yaalon and a got a reprimand from Netanyahu, and meanwhile, the IDF said that Golan didn’t mean what he said. And, the papers began sharing stories ahead of the Day of Remembrance for the Fallen Soldiers of Israel and Victims of Terror. Also, Israel is investigating, after all, the suspicions that government-employed guards illegally killed two Palestinian siblings at Qalandiya checkpoint, a 23-year-old pregnant mother and her 16-year-old brother, whom the police afterward had tried to attack guards.
