News Summary:
An esteemed general was indicted on rape charges, 25,000 people – including religious Jews - marched in the biggest Jerusalem gay pride parade ever as a statement of tolerance following the murder of a participant by a religious man in last year’s parade and the recent homophobic statements by rabbis (which were not retracted), and Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman compared the poetry of the Palestinian national poet, Mahmoud Darwish, with Adolf Hitler’s ‘Mein Kampf’ sparking a storm, (Arab MKs plan to read Darwish’s poetry in Knesset in protest - Maariv) – making top stories in today’s Hebrew newspapers. Meanwhile, the Israeli analysts weighed in on whether the Israeli government cabinet ministers could stop Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s “attack on the media that continued this week in full force.”
