The battle over the status quo heated up after Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu gave in to pressure by ultra-Orthodox parties, which demanded that no infrastructure work be done to the trains on Shabbat – at the expense of 70,000 passengers who now won’t be able to use train service while the work is being done, Israel’s satellite industry received a heavy blow when its satellite, ‘Amos 6,’ was destroyed in an explosion just hours before being launched in Florida, Israel Police said there was no evidentiary basis to indict Labor party leader Isaac Herzog, and Israel’s Police Commissioner Roni Alsheikh apologized to the Ethiopian community for his racist comments - making top stories in today's Hebrew newspapers. Meanwhile, Israel’s High Court ordered the demolition of the 17 homes of Netiv Ha’avot settlement outpost built on private Palestinian land.
