News Summary:
Police will be questioning Interior Minister Arieh Deri and wife Yaffa over undeclared assets and Avi Nissenkorn likely won the elections for the chairman of the Histadrut, despite Shelly Yachimovich’s claims of fake votes and missing ballot boxes, making top news in today's Friday newspaper, while commentators examined how much pressure the US would put on Israel to make peace.

*Meanwhile, a Maariv poll found that despite what was considered a ‘pro-Israel’ trip, US President Donald Trump’s visit did not raise optimism among Israelis about the chances of renewing diplomatic negotiations and the possibility of reaching peace. Some 78% of the Israeli public believes that there is no chance of reaching a peace agreement, although 58% want one. Some 64% of Israelis think Israel does not have a partner.

But left-wingers are adamant to show their support for a two-state solution and will hold what they hope will be an enormous rally on Saturday night. Peace Now, Standing Together, the New Israel Fund, and the Labor and Meretz parties have organized the rally in Rabin Square under the title "Two States for Two Peoples.” Right-wing activists plan to come and demonstrate against it.
