APN Director of Policy and Government Relations was interviewed by BBC TV on the issue of President Trump's recognition of Israel's annexation of the Golan Heights. (APN's statement opposing this action)
Americans for Peace Now (APN) strongly condemns President
Trump’s Twitter declaration that “it is time for the United States to fully recognize Israel’s Sovereignty over
the Golan Heights.” We resolutely oppose a change in US policy – consistent across consecutive administrations,
Republican and Democratic – that would recognize Israel’s annexation of the Golan Heights.
Such a revolutionary policy shift would hurt prospects for peace between Israel and the Palestinians, and harm Israel’s chances for peace with Arab states. This step, as a result, would negatively impact Israel’s national security. It would also severely harm America’s moral standing and national security interests.
Watch the short video message from Lior Ashkenazi, one of Israel's most well-known and decorated actors, who is the central figure and narrator of Peace Now's short film being promoted during election season.

This is a special episode of PeaceCast. For the first time, APN
recorded before a live audience in Washington DC. We partnered with one of Israel’s most popular English
language podcasts, the Tel Aviv Review.
We recorded it on March 7th 2019 at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. The event was organized in partnership with J Street.
We hosted two journalists, Israeli journalist Amir Tibon of Haaretz and Palestinian journalist Said Arikat of al-Quds. Haaretz is published in Tel Aviv and al-Quds is published in Ramallah, in the West Bank. Amir and Said are the Washington correspondents of their newspapers. The idea of this conversation was to explore how Said and Amir both cover the Israeli-Palestinian conflict from Washington.
This episode is released simultaneously on PeaceCast and on the Tel Aviv Review.
Yossi Alpher is an independent security analyst. He is the former director of the Jaffee Center for Strategic Studies at Tel Aviv University, a former senior official with the Mossad, and a former IDF intelligence officer. Views and positions expressed here are those of the writer, and do not necessarily represent APN's views and policy positions.
Let’s help our brothers and sisters of Shalom Achshav put peace
on the agenda. Let’s help them make sure that one million Israelis see this film, and that these elections are
about the issues that really matter for Israel’s future.
